When you look at reviewing and updating your strategy, it will often be the case that you will undergo some major changes. Communicating progress to your staff is paramount, particularly if the change process is happening over a longer period of time. Important things to remember include:
- Keeping the change momentum - ensure that everyone understands why change is important and how they can contribute - on an ongoing basis
- Maintain regular contact with staff - choose suitable communication channels but ensure continuity of message
- Let everyone get involved and have their say - get people on board and take their suggestions seriously - your team will be less willing to participate if you ignore their recommendations
- Gauge opinion - ask your staff how they feel about the changes being made BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER
